Meet Rebecca Abreu
Rebecca Abreu was born in Puerto Rico and completed her Microbiology BS on the island. After various successful Internship projects with P&G, she worked as a Quality Engineer for General Mills over the next five years focusing on Raw Materials Quality and leading Continuous Improvement projects. Next, she worked as a Quality Manager for National Pasteurized Eggs, and this was her first Start-Up experience. In this role, she developed procedures for a new facility. As a result, she achieved SQF level 3 certification in three months while managing all Food Safety, Quality, and Sanitation aspects of the three processing plants.
Rebecca's second start-up experience was onboarding a new Dietary Supplements facility, Nutrivo. Rebecca was the first Quality hire and developed programs to receive NSF certification within six months. In four years, Rebecca hired, trained, and led a team of 14 Individuals. The third start-up for Rebecca was RXBAR, where she joined as a Senior Food Safety Auditor. She led audits for over 90 suppliers and production facilities and was promoted to Director of the Raw Materials Quality Team, overseeing four direct reports.
Rebecca briefly managed the Latin America McDonald's supply chain while working for the McClement Management Group. As a Quality Manager, she worked on onboarding new suppliers and assessing existing suppliers’ Quality and Sensory capabilities.
Rebecca continues to work on her expertise and is ready to share her knowledge of the processes she has intimate knowledge and can drive change quickly and effectively. She has developed food safety programs and continues to further her education and career by obtaining Certificates related to her work in the Food Safety and Quality Fields.
